2011 House Bill 1970: Allowing the waiver of certain requirements for public works projects costing less than five thousand dollars

Authorizes state agencies and local jurisdictions to waive payment bond requirements, performance bond requirements, and statements of intent to pay prevailing wage for public works projects valued at five thousand dollars or less. This act provides that if waiver of any of the requirements is granted, the agency or local jurisdiction assumes responsibility for the payments by the contractor to others under the contract, but can recover those amounts from the contractor.   Official Text and Analysis.
