2011 House Bill 1969: Concerning the exemption of flood control zone districts from certain limitations on regular property tax levies
Introduced by Rep. Bob Hasegawa (Seattle) (D) on February 15, 2011
Exempts certain flood control zone districts from certain limitations on regular property tax levies. This act provides that the total property tax levy imposed on any property coexisting in a county’s and flood control zone district’s taxing jurisdiction cannot exceed one percent of the fair market value of the property. This gives priority to the flood control zone district and provides for the elimination of the county’s property tax levy if the limit cannot otherwise be met. This act is in effect on taxes levied for collection in 2012-17. This act expires January 1, 2018.   Official Text and Analysis.
