2010 House Bill 2600: Concerning retail telecommunication services
Introduced by Rep. John McCoy (Tulalip) (D) on January 11, 2010
Allows public utilities and rural port districts to handle telecommunication in a given district for the purposes of retail telecommunication services if it enters into a partnership with a nonprofit or Indian tribe and secures the approval of voters in the district. The vote would take place on a year of a general election with the ballot asking simply if the utility or district should “expand their partnership to include retail telecommunication services”.   Official Text and Analysis.
