2009 Senate Bill 5142: improve education and employment opportunities for criminals
Introduced by Sen. Debbie Regala, (D-Tacoma) (D) on January 15, 2009
O encourage and contribute the rehabilitation of convicted criminals through increased awareness and training. This bill requires the department of licensing to develop a guide to assist criminals in understanding qualifications and licensing requirements that would prohibit them because of their conviction. The bill requires DOL to submit this list by December 1, 2009. In addition the department is to provide this service within the resources that it already utilizes.   Official Text and Analysis.
