To ensure that during a teacher strike, a basic education is provided to all students without significant interruption. The bill requires the school districts to develop strike curriculum which will provide students a basic education during a strike. The bill also directs the school superintendent to create a voluntary list of individuals qualified to be strike substitutes. See also Companion SB 6156 .   Official Text and Analysis.
Referred to the House Education Committee on January 13, 2004
But the bill did not receive a hearing by the cutoff date so it is a "dead bill" and will not be considered further.
