2003 Senate Bill 5015
Introduced by Sen. Mike Hewitt (Walla Walla) (R) on January 13, 2003
To repeal ergonomics rules. The bill repeals rules dealing with musculoskeletal disorders. The bill also provides that the director shall not adopt any new or amended rules dealing with musculoskeletal disorders that are substantially the same as these rules unless required by congress or the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration. See also Companion SB 5161.   Official Text and Analysis.
Referred to the Senate Commerce and Trade Committee on January 13, 2003
But the bill did not receive a hearing by the cutoff date so it is considered a “dead bill” (although technically the bill could become active at any time during the 2003-2004 session).
