2013 Senate Bill 5823: Creating a pilot program for the collection of payroll records on public works projects
Introduced by Sen. Maralyn Chase (Shoreline) (D) on February 19, 2013
Directs the Department of Labor and Industries to contract for a labor compliance software program that allows contractors on public works projects to electronically submit payroll records to awarding agencies. At a minimum, the program must collect information necessary to ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements. As a pilot project, this act requires public works projects over one million dollars involving four-year colleges, school districts, and King County to use the program for five years. Other agencies and projects may voluntarily use the program.   Official Text and Analysis.
