2013 Senate Bill 5770: Permitting conservation districts to use electronic deposits for employee pay and compensation

Exempts conservation districts from the requirement to obtain a written request of twenty-five employees to electronically deposit all or part of their salaries or wages in financial institutions for either credit to the employees' accounts or immediate transfer to the employees' accounts in any other financial institutions.   Official Text and Analysis.

Exempts conservation districts from the requirement to obtain the written request of at least 25 employees before it disburses salary and wages to an approved financial institution on the employees' behalf. Conservation districts may disburse salaries, wages, and any other approved payments to any approved financial institution on behalf of employees or contractors.

Authorizes conservation districts to, on their own initiative, deposit salaries, wages, and other approved financial reimbursements of employees and contractors in the financial institutions of the employees and contractors. Exempts conservation districts from a provision that prohibits state offices or political subdivisions of the state from paying employee salaries or wages directly to the financial institutions of their employees unless 25 or more employees have requested, in writing, to receive compensation in this manner.
