2011 Senate Bill 5541: Concerning regional mobility grants and tax incentives for improving transportation efficiency

To add public institutions of higher education in funding projects such as intercounty connectivity service, park and ride lots, rush hour transit service, and capital projects that improve the connectivity and efficiency of our transportation system. The bill also provides for a parking tax exemption for such institutions in an amount equal to or more than the amount invested by an institution in the commute trip reduction program. To require that at least 110 percent of an entities parking proceeds be invested into a commute trip reduction program for them to be eligible for an exemption from commercial parking. Expands the eligible entities to include public and non-profit hospitals that contract with public institutions of higher education.
