2011 Senate Bill 5240: Expanding DNA databases to include DNA from felony arrestees

To provide that, before January 1, enforcement officers have the right to collect DNA samples from persons arrested for or charged with violent offenses and sex offenses. After January 1, 2013 collection of DNA samples from persons arrested for violent or sex offenses is mandatory. (Companion: HB 1369).   Official Text and Analysis.
