2010 Senate Bill 6399: Adjusting the calculation of child support
Introduced by Sen. Debbie Regala, (D-Tacoma) (D) on January 13, 2010
Creates a new model to determine figures to pay child support for low income parents. The figures provided in the bill are for parents making between $1,000 and $20,000 per month combined. For parents making more than $20,000 combined in one month, the cases will be determined in their own hearing. The courts may also adjust the child support of a parent who falls into the determine figures based on circumstances such as the child will be spending more than 33% of the calendar year with the parent who’s supposed to pay and there are other children outside of the current relationship that a parent is paying child support for.   Official Text and Analysis.
