Directs the department of licensing to develop a program where persons with disabilities that impair their ability to communicate with law enforcement or emergency personnel, can apply for a notification sticker to be placed on the upper left hand corner of the driver’s side front windshield. The department of licensing will determine the fee.   Official Text and Analysis.
Referred to the House Transportation Committee on January 14, 2009
Substitute offered in the House on February 10, 2009
To require the Department of Licencing to work with the State Patrol and interested parties in order to design the notification sticker. The substitute removes the requirement that the DOL issue the notification stickers after the design is complete and the fee associated with the issuance of the sticker. Instead, the DOL is required to make the completed design available to interested parties. The traffic infraction for persons who obtain the notification sticker other than through the DOL is also eliminated.
