2005 Senate Bill 5054: Regarding health care information release authorizations

To modify provisions regarding patients authorizing a health care provider to disclose the patient's health care information. The bill establishes that an authorization shall automatically terminate sixty days after the date of the patient's death unless it expressly provides for a different expiration date. To require disclosure authorization to contain an expiration date or an expiration event that relates to the patient or the purpose of the use or disclosure. The substitute removes the provision that an authorization will automatically terminate sixty days after the date of the patient's death.
