2013 House Bill 1409: Regarding the requirements of physician licensure

Authorizes medical school graduates from the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany and South Africa, and to apply for specific medical licenses. This act authorizes the State Medical Quality Assurance Commission to adopt rules for other applicants from foreign nations and to develop alternative licensing methods. Requires that all applicants for a license to practice medicine meet the same standards regardless of the country in which they attended medical school, except that those who graduated outside of the United States or Canada must obtain certification with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.

Establishes an alternative standard for receiving a license to practice medicine for applicants with exceptional credentials.
