2011 Senate Bill 5438: Concerning the sale of timber from lands managed by the department of fish and wildlife

To require the department of fish and wildlife to evaluate and provide recommendations to the fish and wildlife commission on timber sales from department-managed land that would generate revenue while sustaining or enhancing the suitability of the landscape for fish and wildlife habitat. Proceeds from the sale of timber must be deposited in the state wildlife account to be used for the operation and maintenance of department-managed lands.   Official Text and Analysis.

To add that the department of fish and wildlife (WDFW) must present evaluations and recommendations to the Commission for opportunities to conduct timber harvests. Specifies that using the proceeds from the sale of timber for maintenance and operation of DFW lands must be with the code of federal regulations.
