2011 House Bill 1245: Changing the election and appointment provisions for municipal court judges
Introduced by Rep. Christopher Hurst (Enumclaw) (D) on January 18, 2011
Modifies current law to allow appointed municipal judges to serve until January 1 of the year following the next election in which other city officials are elected. This act requires cities and towns to provide by ordinance for the number of full- and part-time judges to be elected. This act also provides other conditions for the initial appointment and subsequent election of municipal judges. (Companion: SB 5630).   Official Text and Analysis.
