2009 House Bill 1391 (Regarding land surveyors)

Introduced by Rep. Larry Springer, (D-Kirkland) (D) on January 20, 2009, gives a lengthy and specific definition of what constitutes “practice of land surveying,” including, but not limited to: determining the size, shape or contour of the earth’s surface, determining the positions of boundaries, retracing property lines, right-of-ways or easements, creating or modifying descriptions of the limits of real property interests. Also updates, adds and expands several definitions of professions, agencies or variables involved in the practice of land surveying. (See also Companion SB 5584).

I support the passage of this bill. There is one comment I would like to make regarding the definitions:

The bill defines the term "Land Surveyor in Training". The most recent state tests have changed that term to "FLS" (Future Land Surveyor)

I think the definitions should be consistent with the test that is given.
