• Introduced by Sen. Tracey Eide, (D-Federal Way) (D) on January 4, 2007, to propose an amendment to the Washington State Constitution. The amendment would allow local school district bonds to pass with a simple majority approval by the voters. Currently, the state Constitution requires schools bonds to receive over 60% voter approval. This resolution would amend the state Constitution if approved by two-thirds of the Legislature and a majority of the voters in the next general election. See companions SB 5028 and SJR 8202.
