2007 Senate Bill 5372: Creating the Puget Sound partnership.

To create the Puget Sound Partnership as an independent state agency. The partnership would be lead by a 7 member commission and Executive Directed appointed by the Governor. The Commission would be responsible for setting goals for cleaning up Puget Sound by 2020.   Official Text and Analysis.

To delete the Science Advisory Committee section and replace it with: 1. A procedure for stakeholders to nominate individuals for the Leadership Council's consideration and selection of three council science advisors. Nominees would be screened for qualification by the Washington Academy of Sciences. 2. The Leadership Council would be best served by a consistent and reliable source of scientific information and interpretation--to be accomplished by fairly and adequately compensated science advisors. 3. Science advisors are vested with the ability to provide the Leadership Council with a prioritized ranking of action agenda actions, based on a scientific assessment, of which actions will yield the greatest restoration or protection return on investment.
