2013 House Bill 1747: Developing and enforcing standards for the department of social and health services' supported living program
Introduced by Rep. Tami Green, (University Place) (D) on February 7, 2013
Directs the Department of Social and Health Services to collect the following information about administrators and owners of supported living contractors: salaries; business vehicles; names, training, and criminal background check history of all employees. This act provides that supported living contractors may not use client care funds to pay for legal fees, and requires the Department to use performance-based contracting standards for supported living contractors. The Department must adopt a process to refuse to do business with supported living contractors which have violated certain standards. This act provides enforcement and penalties and requires regular inspection of supported living facilities. This act requires such facilities to be in good repair, have a fire drill plan, and be financially solvent. This act provides for whistle-blower protections. (See also SB 5481).   Official Text and Analysis.
