2013 House Bill 1471: Updating and aligning with federal requirements hospital health care-associated infection rate reporting

Modifies current law to conform with federal law regarding hospital health care-associated infection rate reporting. Reinstates a requirement that hospitals collect data related to health care-associated infections on deep sternal wound for cardiac surgery, including coronary artery bypass graft and total hip and knee replacement surgery; and requires the Department to report to the appropriate committees of the legislature by December 1, 2016 with an update on the categories of reporting required under this act, any plans for federal reporting requirements on the categories, and recommendations for an expiration of the reporting requirements.
