I only agree with you in one part.  "Promote" is not the verb.  This resoluction has been passed in the past but no action was taken.  The resolution should be "MUST" be taught.

The program is funded under the non-profit organization Friends of NRA and the NRA Foundation.

The training does not address the 2nd amendment or does the program or Eddier Eagle say anything good or bad about guns.

Eddie Eagle on teaches young children, that if they see a gun, they are to:

STOP

DON'T TOUCH

LEAVE THE AREA

TELL AN ADULT

It is an effectiove tool, but not used in all schools in the state of Washinton

I haven't a clue what a Senate Joint Memorial is. In light of that though I fail to see what this "act"? does. It promotes the use of the program. Big deal. What does that mean, NRA gets to leave some pamphlets? It appears in a school newsletter? These are honest, if rhetorical questions.

My point is this - I think the program should be put on in the schools, and funded gladly with my tax dollars.

When I read news of some school somewhere confiscating a kids lunch because they don't approve of the turkey sandwich, then they give the kid chicken nuggets instead; when I hear of kids suspended for drawing a picture of a gun; when I hear other stories of unmitigated gall in the school system where a child is used as a pawn to make a political point; all with my tax dollars - I am outraged.

Here we have a chance to do something worthy to address real life, yet the best we can offer is a government action to 'promote'?

Empty words aren't worth the paper they're wasting. Show me the meat Washington, show me something worthwhile. If this is how much you care, don't bother, we don't need you.

I am familar with the Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Program. It is a great program and I am glad to see the state promoting it. Good Job. This bill needs to be passed.
