2012 House Bill 2477: Extending the “amber alert” program to missing endangered persons
Introduced by Rep. Hans Zeiger (Puyallup) (R) on January 16, 2012
Requires the Washington state patrol to establish a missing endangered person clearinghouse and implement the same programs used in “amber alerts.” Adds social media to the outlets for issuing such alerts. Endangered person means a person believed to be in danger because of age, health, mental or physical disability, in combination with environmental or weather conditions, or is believed to be unable to return to safety without assistance.
