2012 House Bill 2280: Establishing a yellow dot program for motor vehicles
Introduced by Rep. Jim Moeller (Vancouver) (D) on January 11, 2012
This act creates a yellow dot program for vehicles in Washington State. Under the program, individuals purchase a yellow dot decal and folder. The decal is displayed in the back window of the vehicle. The folder contains identification and medical information for the vehicle’s operator and is kept in the glove box. Should the vehicle be involved in an accident, emergency responders are alerted by the decal to retrieve the folder and take the information into account when rendering medical treatment to the driver or notifying the driver’s family. Participation in the program is voluntary. Individuals wishing to participate in the program must pay a fee sufficient to cover the cost of the decal and folder.   Official Text and Analysis.
