2011 Senate Bill 5706: Concerning juvenile restorative justice programs

To modify current law related to community-based rehabilitation programs to include restorative justice programs for juveniles. This act defines restorative justice as practices, policies, and programs designed to bring about the acceptance of responsibility by offenders for repairing the harm caused by their offense by bringing together the offender, the victim, their families, and relevant community members. This act allows for diversion programs to include restorative justice programs. (Companion: HB 1775).   Official Text and Analysis.
