2011 Senate Bill 5059: Providing insurance coverage for autism spectrum disorders

To extend insurance coverage for autism spectrum disorders, which are defined as any of the pervasive developmental disorders as included in the most recent edition of the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders, including autistic disorder, Asperger's disorder, and pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified. The bill requires every health plan offered to the public to include coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders.   Official Text and Analysis.
