To provide for disclosure of legal proceedings in cases involving public hazards with an intended presumption against sealing of court documents. "Public hazard" means a condition of a product that has cause, ro could be expected to cause serious harm to a person unaware of the condition. The bill is intended to assure that consumers are aware of public hazards, despite settlements of lawsuits that often include a confidentiality provision. Official Text and Analysis.
