2011 Senate Bill 5010: Public financing of state supreme court campaigns

To create the “Judicial Election Reform Act,” which introduces a voluntary pilot project to provide public financing of candidates for the Washington Supreme Court who demonstrate public support and voluntarily accept strict fundraising and spending limits. Sets forth conditions to qualify for public financing, including the requirement for at least 500 qualifying contributions from individuals that total at least 25 times the filing fee for the office sought. Qualifying contributions are deposited in the Judical Election Reform Act fund created by this measure.   Official Text and Analysis.
