2011 House Bill 1812: Changing provisions relating to community municipal corporations

Modifies current law concerning community municipal corporations when cities annex unincorporated territory. For annexations occurring prior to January 1, 2012, this act provides that the annexed territory will be subject to a community municipal corporation organized by the annexing city, subject to certain requirements. This act provides that for city consolidations occurring prior to January 1, 2012, the combined cities may form a community municipal corporation.   Official Text and Analysis.

To provide that community municipal corporations for cities and towns may be organized until January 1, 2012. Provides that voters of the city in which the service area is located, rather than only voters of the service area, decide ballot measures for the continuation of community municipal corporations and the election of community council members.
