Operators of emergency vehicles are exempt from this law.

 Just like the seat belt law, as soon as you realize you can make a buck you turn it into a primary offense. NO WAY, how many LE officers have I seen driving and using their cells without headsets! Lead by example and NO to making is anything but a secondary offense.

What took so long?  I'm surprised the Legislature didn't just pass and modify the original bill in the same session.  Here's a suggestion: Why not just enforce the inattentive and reckless driving laws we have on the books already?  Oh, I forgot - more laws, more fun.
