2007 Senate Bill 5574: Regarding the printing and publishing business and occupation tax classification.
Introduced by Sen. Brian Weinstein, (D-Eastside Suburbs) (D) on January 24, 2007
To reclassify certain printing and publishing companies under the business and occupation (B&O) tax code. Currently printers and publishers are subject to a B&O tax rate of the business gross income multiplied by .484 percent. This bill would apply a 1.5 percent tax rate on all businesses publishing, distributing, and displaying advertising publications with the exception of newspapers and periodicals which would remain at the .484 percent tax rate. See companion HB 1380.   Official Text and Analysis.
