2007 House Bill 2243: Addressing the replacement of motor vehicle keys.

To require motor vehicle dealers to provide vehicle owners information necessary to reproduce a replacement key or similar device by a locksmith that allows the owner to open, start, and operate the vehicle. The information must be made available to the registered owner at all times by phone or electronically. Auto dealers must comply with these provisions for vehicles sold or leased after December 31, 2008.   Official Text and Analysis.
