2007 House Bill 1655: Doubling the amount of monetary penalties for traffic infractions on high accident corridors.

To double the fees for traffic violations on high accident corridors of forty miles or more. The bill directs 60% of the added fees go into a motor vehicle account solely for safety improvements. The bill also directs 40% of the added fees go into the traffic safety commission for safety education. The bill also directs that 10% of the added fees go into county prosecutors and courts to support the additional administration costs.   Official Text and Analysis.
