2007 House Bill 1373: Modifying photo enforcement of traffic infraction provisions.

To modify the provisions on photo enforcement procedures. The bill would require that traffic infractions issued through photo enforcement, to be handled in the same way as parking infractions. The bill also requires the amount of the fine to be $40, plus three times the amount of a toll evaded, if applicable. If the defendant can prove the toll was paid, the court shall dismiss the ticket, but may also impose a $20 administrative fee. See companion 5391.   Official Text and Analysis.

Substitute offered to the House Transportation Committee on February 14, 2007
To modify the additional toll-based portion of the penalty for toll evasion to standardize it at three times the cash toll for a standard passenger car during peak hours. The substitute bill also eliminates the ability of a person accused of a toll violation to pay the toll prior to adjudication in order to avoid the $40 penalty.
