1) how to make the income tax look good [by Anonymous Citizen on March 6, 2007]
If the sales tax is made even more difficult to administer, enforcers can easily accuse low level retailers of tax fraud, and privileged citizens think they deserve benefits that others don't get, it all adds up to a problem whre an income tax can be seen as the solution. Lets not go there.

2) OK, but I get to be the one to decide [by Anonymous Citizen on March 6, 2007]
When we start drawing lines of what is and what isn't taxed, and when, then we are picking winners and losers by government fiat. How does that balance with all men are created equal?

3) Take it a step further... [by Anonymous Citizen on January 8, 2007]
How about just lowering the already too high sales tax. Eliminate the sales tax on high cost items. Isn't it a bit ridiculous to charge full-bore sales tax on a home, a motor home, a car? In fact, please eliminate the increased taxes allowed on the purchase of vehicles. Spend less on things we don't need and let us spend more for things we need.

The proper ways to handle this are:
1. No Sales tax.
2. No sales tax on clothing.
3. No sales tax for Union members and other state employees.
Living in he 26th district we would propose an amendment to add a Toll holiday when there is a Sales Tax holiday.
As a merchant in the District I'll raise my prices 7 1/2% and advertise All Prices Reduced.
Grow up - legislate responsibly.
