2006 House Bill 3102: Requiring planting of geoduck seeds

To require that licensed geoduck harvesters provide labor and equipment to plant geoduck seed in state commercial beds. Geoduck licenses are required and only a person holding a geoduck diver license may do the actual harvesting. This bill has an emergency clause. See companion SB 6708.   Official Text and Analysis.

To remove the requirement for licensed geoduck divers to plant seed provided by a state hatchery onto state beds. It removes a provision allowing the transfer of a geoduck license under certain circumstances. It authorizes the Director of the DFW to reissue a license if another license is surrendered. It requires the DNR and the DFW to evaluate the license restrictions and report findings to the Legislature by December 15, 2007.
