Introduced by Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe, (D-Bothell) (D) on February 3, 2005, to require every school bus purchased after June 30, 2005, to have safety belts for use by each person riding the bus. The sum of five hundred thousand dollars will be appropriated from the highway safety fund to the superintendent of public instruction to carry out the purposes of this act.
