2005 House Bill 2208: Concerning assignment of a debt to a collection agency
Introduced by Rep. Tom Campbell, (R-Roy) (R) on February 23, 2005
To provide that no person may assign a debt to a collection agency unless the person has made an attempt to advise the debtor of the existence of the debt, and that the debt may be assigned to a collection agency for collection if the debt is not paid within ten days after the date of notice of the existence of the debt, and at least thirty days have elapsed from the time notice was attempted.   Official Text and Analysis.
