2007 Senate Bill 5403: Certifying animal massage practitioners.

To require certification for animal massage practitioners. Certificate applicants would be required to complete a minimum number of hours training through a qualified program and successfully complete a competency exam. See companion HB 1158.   Official Text and Analysis.

To set the number of hours of instruction required to practice either large or small animal massage at three hundred hours. For persons who have had training in animal massage in other states, the department will determine whether the training is substantially equivalent to that required in this state and determine whether additional training is needed before taking the examination. The substitute also requires the act to be referred as the Vaughn Brown Opportunity Act.
