These right-wing anti-union types will never stop doing whatever they can to skew elections to the far right.  Notice how they are merciless in their attacks against the big, bad unions, but welcome the unlimited campaign funding by corporations and billionaires.  Their hypocrisy is mind-boggling.  Senator Honeyford must subscribe to ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council), the ultra right-wing, corporation-dominated organization that prepares model legislation for national distribution to right-wing state legislators.  The Koch brothers are huge funders of ALEC.  At least Senator Honeyford had the common sense to remove the lead-in language prepared by ALEC (describing ALEC's purpose behind the proposed legislation) before offering the bill.  Recently another right-winger from another state forgot to do that and, as a result, disclosed for the world to see just how much these right-wing legislators are reliant upon the corporate-dominated ALEC for their bills.

You would sing a different tune if you were required to pay dues to a "right wing" organization that sens a huge number of lobbyist's to Washington, D.C. to argue in favor of their ideology, which is what the union thugs in the SEIU do. But to you it's fine that employees are forced to join a union whether they want to or not and then forced to pay dues that are used against their principles and values if they differ than those of the extreme left wing.

We need to add to this bill a restriction about the purchase of insurance by unions - see Michigan.

Lainie59, I take it that in order for you to be consistent in your views (and not hypocritical) you are also against those corporate "thugs" who spend millions of dollars for lobbyists in Washington, D.C. notwithstanding what shareholders want those corporate "thugs" to do with their money?  I also take it that you are strongly opposed to the Citizens United case which opened the door for corporations, billionaires and millionaires (you know, the rich "thugs" like the Koch brothers) to spend unlimited amounts to buy elections?

Why is it that I think you are probably okay with these rich corporate type of "thugs" buying elections, but opposed to any other organizations that may spend much lesser amounts to try to level the playing field?  So revealing.
