2012 House Bill 2499 (Expanding disclosure of political advertising to include advertising supporting or opposing ballot measures)

Introduced in the House on January 16, 2012, requires political advertising supporting or opposing ballot measures sponsored by a political committee to name the "top five" contributors in the advertisement

The vote was 75 in favor, 22 opposed and 1 not voting

(House Roll Call 0 at House Journal 0)

This is another stupid, waste of time bill. Ballot measures are not the same as votes for candidates for office. Because this bill will add to the cost of ballot measures and most ballot measures are to repeal or change stupid laws passed by the Democrats, all of the Democrats supported it. This is an affront to the intelligence of the people.

The democrats must read some of the Perry Belcher`s ideas before making such bills, sometimes I wonder why they vote such bills when there are other things that need to be changed? Naming the "top five" contributors in the advertisement won`t change anything, this is really "an affront to the intelligence of the people".
