Water and sewer districts need special consideration due to their reliance on gravity which is not a respector of political boundaries.

Voting YES on this bill means all the people connected to a utility will get all the information needed and a chance to decide if a portion of their utility will benefit from being connected to a different set of pipes.

Our legislators should be encouraged to vote yes, to trust the people to decide for themselves on something important to their daily lives.

This is another consideration that this bill addresses... saving the ratepayers money when their district's elected officials and their city elected council members can't agree... leaving it up to the lawyers is an expensive way to do the people's business.

“Please vote YES on HB 1695 which would allow a vote of ratepayers when cities and districts cannot agree.  It will prevent costly legal actions and encourage cities and districts to come to a common agreement.”
