Trying to keep my five remaining employees and their  families from losing their homes in this economy is more stressful than the duties these folks get paid well for.  Stressful is the job of finding ebough money to pay our workmens compensation insurance to a state run monopoly that is poorly managed and having no other choice in the matter. Stressfull is operting a business in Washington State, Washington's business owners are the ones needing government comoensation for heart disease.

I don't support many bills, but I support this one.  We need to take care of those we entrust the public's well-being to.  Who else will come to your door at anyhouratnight to investigate a noise made by your cat/dog/kid/burgler?  How many others go to work knowing that they might not make it home when their shift is over?

If it were me, I would strip all the pay of the legislature until thise real-life heros got what they deserve.  Then I would give to the teacher.  I could go on and on but you get the point.

This is finally an un-selfish bill that tries to establish a reward system for these heros.  We should all be for it.  It's only common sense.

I DO respect the officers that deal with the lowest of life forms in our country and we are lucky that there are still people that CHOOSE TO BE in law-enforcement.

You are correct  in saying that being in a small business in this state brings 24/7 stress. If I or we have a heart attack or stroke from years of 24/7 stress we do not get hailed as a "hero" (over used word) and unless we have provided out of our own pocket for the loss of life or permanent disability then we are in real trouble. There are many programs that are available to everyone and I am sure law-enforcement has many also that deal with how to cope with stress.

Before we start another hand out of our cash lets look at the physical condition of the officers that we are paying benefits to and make sure that they have the tools and education to handle the stress of their chosen profession.

To our law-enforcement community Thank You for the job you do and as with everything else in our world it is getting harder everyday and we are lucky that you step up and do the job you do.

    THANK YOU
