This bill provides needed system reforms to assure that providers are adequately funded and that care staff jobs are not in jeopardy.  Failure to pass will result in more than a 10% cut to current payments.  It also advances funding for a quality enhancement program pushed by Representative Cody.  The best part is that the provider fee initiative uses federal dollars, gives the state an additional $30 million for other services and costs the tax payer noting.  Basically a win for patients, providers and the state.  While almost every nursing home in the state will benefit from this fee, the association representing many not-for-profit nursing homes continues to oppose the initiative on a purely phylisophical issue, even though their membership benefits.

I do hope that this project is going to get supported, so many people depend on it. I used to consider nursing as my career choice but in fact nursing is more than a career choice, it's actually a life choice. I am now on my way of getting the degree I need.
