    Re: 2009 House Bill 2341

Until I read this bill I didn't know people on Medicaid were also eligible for the State's basic health plan.

One of the provisions of this bill is to eliminate that coverage. That's good news.

Another provision of this bill specifies different  premiums for smokers and the obese than for others (higher no doubt).

It's funny how the state can be so concerned about the health of smokers and the obese but not at all concerned about those who practice unhealthy and sometimes deadly sexual practices. In fact, the state actually encourages promiscuity and sodomy which probably have higher health costs and worse health risks than either smokers or the obese.

But smoking and being fat are not politically correct so they will be singled out as the bad people while other choices and lifestyles that are just as bad, if not worse, are encouraged.

This proves this legislature fails in its first responsibility to all citizens and that is fairness and impartiality while encouraging the health and well being of all of us.

it's a bit easier to prove someone smokes or they are obese...but of course...the Republican thought Police could invade your private sex lives and make you take lie detection test.....

but of course...there would be some consitutional and privacy issues to deal with ...so..you wanna trade some privacy for some more safety?

pretty soon you will have niether.

And the Dems want to start a death panel as part of their socialistic health plan.
