Re: 2009 Senate Bill 5095 (Protecting vulnerable wildlife from the threat of lead poisoning)

This legislation is merely a convenient guise for gun control.  There is no qualified risk of lead poisoning to wildlife from lead shot.  When California passed this same legislation they sited lead levels in California Condors as justification but no study was conducted which showed that the lead came from hunters shot.  Several studies were conducted by concerned citizens groups which indicated that the lead came from industrial pollution.  These studies were summarily rejected by the California Legislature because it was not really about where the lead came from.  It has been their agenda to limit the use of recreational firearms however possible and using the veil of environmentalism they struck a blow against sporting firearms users by increasing the average cost of sporting ammunition several fold.

Please do not simply follow suit with the agenda of the California gun control mob.  Realize that this bill and others like it is merely an attempt to use economic discrimination against gun owners.  I urge you not to buy into this nonsense and vote this bill down.

    Thank you.
