Good idea protecting the bushes so there can be future harvests. However, what exemption are you talking about? I dont understand

    wild huckleberry permit

A 3 gallon limit is probably a good trial number. No reason for someone to need more, unless they need the food. Commercial harvesting only generates revenue for the state bureaucracy and limits the availability of huckleberries for the general public. Enforce the 3 gallon limit, and leave it at that. Survey the availability and adjust the limit as needed. If a lobyist indicates the need for commercial access to the berries, tell them to plant them on private land!

Wild life habitat reduction, including food, is a major problem world wide. Do NOT encourage the commercial remmoval of these "WILD" berries! Don't allow any taxpayer to remove more than 3 gallons for their own consumption. We have far to many permits already. Look beyond the proposer of this legislation and out to all the taxpayers you are supposed to represent.
