    House Bill 1165

Rep Dan Roach: Thank you so much for introducing this Bill. I have listened to the tragic stories of people who have hired my services as an installer of On-site sewage disposal systems. Being familiar with the last statement of the fifth amendment to the Constitution, I was telling these folks, who had been terrorized by "The Biologist", that what they were doing was illegal. If they were going to order him to not even walk on area(s) of his own property, then they had to pay him for it. I also suggested that they subtract the unusable square footage from their tax bill. Snohomish County is wide open for a huge class action lawsuit. For years they have bullied, intimidated and blackmailed people into giving them without charge ten or twenty feet across the front, back or side(s) of their property. As I was told, when I went to the court house to begin the process of short-platting our property, "You will have to give us ten feet across the front of your property. It will be ours, but you will have to maintain it". Ordering me to maintain their stolen property is called slavery by the U.S. Constitution and is illegal. The Const. requires them to pay me and all the rest of the people they have forced to render them service. Have you considered these things? I am Harold Watson. E-mail: hwat62@msn.com

    House Bill 1165

To Dan Roach and all Legislators, I hope this bill is passed in this session and signed by who ever our governor is. If something like this is not done soon, there will be a concerted effort by the rural people of Washington to duplicate I-37 that was recently passed in Oregon. Our Constitution states that if the Government takes our land (either by outright condemnation or regulation) just compensation must be made to the property owner. It is about time that King County was made to follow the Constitution. If the land is so important for PUBLIC USE, then let the public pay for it.

    bad law

IT seems that people only think that laws (zoning)decrease value. IF zoning increases value then hey that's great but if not then the big bad government is to blame. These folks want it all and want to screw everybody else. People dont give a damn anymore for the public good. It's just greed all around by those who are interested in the short term dollar. And why is it so sacrosanct that property values have to increase? Land speculation is just that and is not a god given right to profit down the line. Bad law, bad ideas, will make our area unlivable in the long term.

    Decreased Property Values

So if the county comes along and pours sugar in your car's gastank, thereby decreasing it's value, that's okay so long as the goal is to take vehicles off the road?

    County take0ver

How about the county takes 30 feet of my property down one side to plant some trees. I can't step foot on this land or fence it in or let my horse on it, yet I pay taxes and still 'own' it. Reasonable?
