Finally, a rational piece of legislation designed to bring much needed revenue back into the treasury so the state can carry out its constitutional mandate of providing quality education for our children.

Que the right-wing, anti-government, starve the beast crowd.  I can hear the whines and wails already.

No NO NO NO NO NO!!!!

NO state income tax!  What is is with the libs and the "income tax is good"  mindset?

Why are the libs desperate for an income tax to hide it behind a bill that says it will pay for education?  How stupid do they think we are?  How long is it going to be translated into the general funds and everyone making more than 20k per year paying into it?  How long will it be from .0x% to over 5?  We know the games these politicians play and how they play them.

If this legislature was really serious about creating funds for the K-4 education the bill would be to make the state official language English to cut down on dupicate forms, and to not grant illegals any special favors.

    NO INCOME TAX!!!

    Vote the BATRASTARD OUT!

That didn't take long did it?  What did I tell you.  The whining and wailing by the uber-righties has begun.  They oppose absolutely everything that raises needed revenue.  Fortunately for us they are in a shrinking minority in this state.  Their fear-mongering arguments and anti-government rhetoric is wearing thin these days, and the voters are figuring out their disingenuous rants.

Everything but cutting a bloated governement's budget to balance it...  Something that is elementary to everyone that has to live within their means.

As for the rest of your whine, it just shows how out of touch you are jag.

This is clearly taxation without representation. The so-called "rich" will be forced to give to the state 2% of their wealth to specifically fund a portion of education but they will not receive additional representative rights by doing so. Who gave the legislature the right to determine who is rich? I don't see anything in either the U.S. Constitution or the State Constitution that claims that right. Why would any sane person want more of their wealth confiscated to pay for the failed liberal policies of public education? This state is worse than the federal government under dictator-in-chief Obama.
