     NO NO NO NO...

This bill is not needed due to the ability of local governments to increae their sales taxes.  Which is why the sales tax is differnt in King Co than Spokane Co.

It is just a stupid idiotic bill that shows just how much the dems want to raise taxes.

Re: 2012 House Bill 2728 (Increasing flexibility and diversity of local government revenue)

First off it seems that the majority of our elected leaders have not yet understood the desire of the public that put them there that we want no new taxes. We want spending under control and after you have shown that you can irresponsibly handle "our" money then I am sure that the public will allow the taxes needed to fund services. The second thing that offends me in your proposal is this line "Authorizes counties to impose an excise tax on the privilege of engaging in business as a utility". The state should be honored that those of us that have utilities here in the state do so under a heavily regulated environment and still to chose to do business here. We have utilities that operate at a level of efficiency not attainable by the public sector and now you want to add a new tax upon us that the cites, states, and counties do pay yet government is not to compete with the private sector. Private utilities pay taxes that no public agency has to yet we serve the same taxpaying citizens as the public utilities. This is just another way for you the out of control spenders to tax the citizens with out saying it is a tax on the citizens. On our bills I will make it abundantly clear that the increase in their rates is due to a new tax imposed by the legislature.

I agree that we do not need any new taxes!  NO! NO! a thousand times no!  Control of what taxs we have must remain at the local level where we have a little control and local situations may require different approaches ( tax rates).

Are you kidding me? We need LESS government control and they are proposing more? More Fees (hence, taxes). Their budget is not enough yet? They are going to be getting more money with the way the liquor sales bill was passed. Now they also want the ability to tell us that they are going to raise our costs without us having any control, I mean, why would they expect us uneducated masses to know what is best for ourselves? This reminds me of the movie V for Vendetta which I just watched last night. Except for the conservative being the problem man in charge. Read people, pay attention to this idiocy. Stop these elected officials from taking control of our lives. They work for us. Fire them! Vote them out this year! I am so irate about this bill even being put in for a vote..... NO NO NO to this bill!

Of course this bill is introduced to get around the will of the people who have said time and time again, NO to new taxes and fees. The Democrats will not stop in their quest to increase revenue one way or the other. That is a fact that no one can deny. If this bill doesn't pass, they have many others waiting in the wing. Gregoire sent the legislature a list of 185 ways to increase taxes and fees so they have a lot they can use and we can be sure they will.
